The Austin Record Convention is a thrilling adventure for music lovers & vinyl collectors. Upon seeing thousands and thousands of records in a warehouse for the picking my lips began to salivate and my photography instincts were forced into playing second fiddle.
The convention was an afternoon of total over-stimulation but in the best of ways. I loved overhearing the over-informed vendors and sellers geeking out over such and such album. I figured if a Broadway rendition of “High Fidelity” ever came to fruition this was the perfect place for a casting call. The highlight of my day you ask? Definitely swooping in the last 30 minutes before closing and bargaining a $50 rare Nick Drake album down to $18. Oh wait the defeated vendor pleaded with me not to share my triumph with anybody. My lips are sealed from here on out.
